Anyway, when I went out on the weekend to Pizza Palace , the best hang out in town, Regina knew something was up. She was frowning at me suspiciously. It was a little unnerving. We were gossiping about Kimberly, as Kimberly High School , the school we attend. Even so, I couldn’t get Hannah out of my head. She was all that was on my mind. It must’ve showed because I was very vague. Since it was only lunch time and Pizza Palace is right next to the mall that’s where most of us went.
I was hoping to just get some time to myself, maybe browse in some book stores. Unfortunately Regina decided that letting me in the mall by myself was too risky, so she grabbed on to my arm and would not let go. So, I had to walk around the mall with a 5 foot 8 inch blonde hanging off of me. I suppose it could be worse.
That’s when it became worse.
Before it became worse it became better. Regina spotted a pair of Jimmy Choos, half price and dashed off to claw her way to the cash register, shoes in hand. I was relieved to finally have some peace. Just then, out of the blue I was hit by a speeding bullet. Okay, I was hit by a person, hard.
“I’m soo sorry Mister!” cried the female voice. It sounded familiar. I stood up, gasping for breath and found myself looking into the bright blue eyes of Hannah Miles.
“Is it fate?” I ask, beaming. Not the best conversation starter, afterall, half of Kimberly was at the mall, but still. It has the air of romance.
Despite this, it did not have the anticipated response. Hannah just looked as if she was in pain. Then, when she was about to reply, I was hit by another speeding female. This time it was Regina . She was glaring at me and hissing at Hannah. Hannah appeared a little frightened by this and she dashed off, glancing back at me with an estranged look. I watched her go, and I’m sure a yearning look was on my face.
Now it was time to deal with Regina .
“What was that about?” I cried.
“You know what it was about. That girl is trying to take you from me. I can’t allow it!” I rolled my eyes.
“Reggie, Hannah is not interested in me. She’s made that perfectly clear. You’re being paranoid. Anyway, if you didn’t think she liked me, you would like her yourself. Admit it. She’s attractive, confident and mysterious. Don’t deny it.”
“Who says I am. And yes, it’s true that she’s good popular material. Too bad she dresses like my nanna. But that’s why I’m so worried. You might fall for her.” At this Regina looked up at me sweetly, fluttering her eyelashes.
I’d hate to think of what she’d do if she knew I already liked Hannah.
“Sweetie, you have nothing to worry about.”
Except Hannah.
“No one will steal me away from you.”
Because she doesn’t like me.
Indeed, I certainly have a talent for dealing with Regina .
